Magic Kingdom – Disney Villains’ Land Announced

Fans have wanted a celebration of Disney Villains for years and 2024 it has been announced

Have you ever heard of D23? Formerly known as D23 Expo but now known as D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Experience. This is the Disney Fan experience and has been held bi-annually since 2009 in Anaheim – CA. It is akin to a Star Trek Convention for Disney Fans and ticket prices range from $79 to $2,999 for the die-hard fan complete package and access all areas. ‘D’ stands for Disney (of course) and 23 is the year the Walt Disney Company was founded. Two years ago there was talk of new lands being introduced across the Disney Parks worldwide but at the recent D23 early August 2024 fans patience has been rewarded with the announcement of two new lands in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World – FL.

If you are familiar with the Magic Kingdom’s 6 lands you might wonder where the changes are going to be possible within the park. Now some cynics are convinced that the recent announcements about a Dark Universe land at Universal Epic Universe Orlando has prompted the confirmation of one of the lands.

The Magic Kingdom will begin construction of a Disney Villains Land. So Disney’s baddest and darkest characters are going to be casting their spells in the Magic Kingdom. Where is this new land going to be you might ask and the answer is behind Big Thunder Mountain beyond Frontierland. It will feature two new attractions along with dining and retail.

Also Frontierland will be welcoming Pixar Studios Cars. Rumours abound that the Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer’s Island are to be re-imagined for Radiator Springs and two new attractions, one that will race through mountainous terrain and dodge geysers as well as mud holes. There will be a smaller ride for little ones and their families. Construction should start in 2025.

Other announcements for the Magic Kingdom that a night time parade will be re-introduced in 2025 and that a dedicated Pirate Tavern in Adventureland close to the Pirates of the Caribbean ride will also open in 2025.
