My cruisers are on their Celebrity Eclipse Alaska Cruise and I am now on my holidays. I thought that as I was on a trip of a life time that I would have CANADA make a guest appearance on USA Road Trips by Max!
I was very impressed with Vancouver. It was easy to navigate on foot and there was an atmosphere of calm everywhere. The people were friendly and surroundings are stunning. The metropolis of Vancouver is evolving into a high rise shiny mecca.
Down at Canada Place is where the tourist activity is but if you are a cruise customer this city is geared up for you. There are even tours that cater for the fact you have disembarked your cruise and will take you in luxurious coaches on tours around the city and further afield and then drop you at the airport with your baggage.
The traffic management around the Port of Vancouver is very well organised. Embarking and Disembarking customers are taken underground to begin the check in process or custom clearance, whilst above them visitors can follow the Canada Trail at Canada Place and walk along side the floating resort ships moored at the port.
Two of the attractions have free shuttle buses that depart from Canada Place to solve the issue of how you get out to them. Capilano Suspension Bridge and Grouse Mountain – both beyond North Vancouver.
I will put links here –
Whistler – Whistler
Squamish – Sea to Sky Gondola and Shannon Falls
Peace Arch – Canada USA Border Crossing
Capilano Bridge – Vancouver
Rocky Mountaineer – Vancouver to Kamloops
Rocky Mountaineer – Kamloops to Banff
