Sometimes working in travel has it’s perks and I am fortunate to be going a funded visit to New York and Boston at the invitation of Brand USA and Norwegian Airlines. It is a small group of 6 tour operators and travel agents from all over the UK and Ireland. So I am super excited that I am embarking on a whirlwind 4 night whistle stop tour that includes seeing ‘Kinky Boots’ on Broadway, a trip to the top of World One, a visit to the Whitney Museum and a walk along the Highline.
On Day 3 I take the Amtrak from Penn Station to Boston which is going to be a highlight for me as I have never travelled on Amtrak on all my visits to the States. Stays in Boston are at the Four Seasons and Mandarin Oriental. Tours include a cycle tour, Duck tour (which I questioned the safety of) and a sunset Harbour Cruise. I will be visiting Fenway Park home of the Red Sox and Havard University.
And to top it all off I get to fly back from Boston in Premium!
So I will have to cope with 5* luxury with real metal knives and forks and china plates at breakfast. In fact the cost of one nights stay in Boston (if I was paying that is) is more than all my accommodation for the week I spent in New England back in May!
It all sounds amazing and certainly jam packed. I will do a full report when I return as I am not taking the laptop on this occasion.
