As I am so organised I set the GPS (Sat Nav) with favourites and set it for Moose thinking that it was taking me to the Spruce Moose Bed & Breakfast in North Conway. I travelled through stunning forests and lakes and had about 30 miles to go when I came across Settlers Green Outlet Village which I knew was in North Conway. I stopped and said that I thought that this was in North Conway thinking I was in Conway when I realised that I was in the right place and the GPS was set to the Moose Tour that I was doing later. Duh! Still I gained an hour. NO TAX remember in NH!!
I was early and went to the village which is quaint and lively and has some great stores to browse.
The Spruce Moose is just lovely and rustic. The common area is like a lodge with a real log fire….not required this time of year I hasten to add.
The Moose tour was very successful and we saw 6 Moose. One just wandered across the road and another was drinking from a muddy bog by the road side. It was great to see one for real and in it’s natural habitat.
The 30 mile journey back was through the mountains in the pitch black of night which was quite an adventure. I don’t think I have concentrated that hard in ages.
