The re-imagining of Splash Mountain at Disney World as Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has an opening date for expectant fans. Disney reveal that 28 June is the big day and will be later in the year at Disneyland.

Tiana is a recent Disney Princess and starred in the animated The Princess and the Frog film in 2009. The film is set in New Orleans of the 1920’s and Tiana is a hard working waitress who dreams of opening her own restaurant. Located in Frontierland the 50ft drop that brings a scream and a splash is still there but with the next generation audio-animatronics and music from the film along with new original music. Tiana will welcome guests on a new musical adventure as she prepares to host a party for the ages during the Mardi Gras season. 

The opening is likely to attract much interest and as such the folks at Disneyworld have announced that there will be a virtual queue. This quote from Disney. 

“Guests can request to join the virtual queue via the My Disney Experience app at one of two times: 7 a.m. or 1 p.m. While a standby queue will not be available during the attraction’s initial opening days, we expect to open a standby queue soon after the attraction’s opening.”
