I don’t know about you but it feels like there hasn’t been a lot to celebrate just recently and then I see the news that Disneyland in Anaheim, California turns 70 this year.

In recent Disney tradition a year-long celebration kicked off on 16 May 2025. The actual anniversary date is 17 July 2025 and it took only one year and one day to construct. Disneyland is known as ‘The Happiest Place on Earth” and as you enter Main Street there is a small sign above the arch that tells you that you can leave all your troubles behind (I can’t remember the actual wording) and it is actually so true. 

The park has been redecorated as have the character outfits for the year-long celebrations and of course there is official merchandise to remember this ‘Disneyest’ of festivities. There are new highlights that will light up the park after dark, ‘World of Colour’ introduced by a special message from The Muppets and ‘Paint the Night’ Parade is making a grand return along with over a million LED lights. ‘Wonderous Journey’s’ night time spectacular also returns to celebrate the legacy of Disney Animations projected all over Main Street.

Disneyland Resort that includes Disney’s California Adventure Park is located in Anaheim which is located approximately 35 miles from LAX.
