Hello to those of you in America that follow USA Road Trips by Max! Are you planning a once in a lifetime holiday to Europe outside of the UK? As of 10 November 2024 visitors to EU countries will have enter via a new electronic entry system or EES to digitally enter any port, airport or land crossing in over 30 countries. No longer will a souvenir stamp be entered into your passports.

The European Union’s Commissionaire for home affairs confirmed that the EES will be switched on, on 10 November. Foreign arrivals will have to have their faces and fingerprints digitally scanned from that date. These bio-metrics will be used to confirm a visitor’s entry and exit from the European Union.

For more information on the introduction of EES and of ETIAS which will be the travel authorisation similar to visa waiver system that allows selected countries citizens to enter the USA and that Europe will be introducing in 2025.
