Woke at 04.30 to get to London Heathrow Airport and arrived at Terminal 3 at 06.10. For some reason American Airlines have their priority lanes within British Airways which is a tad confusing.
This time I sailed through security and was tucking into breakfast by 06.30.
The flight was scheduled to land at O’Hare by 10.30 local time but a closed runway delayed the take off by 30 minutes.
Compared to the Premium Economy on Virgin Atlantic last year I would say that it was far more service centric than the service today on American Airlines. An example being that their was no menu for a start and was offered a choice of chicken or a vegetable korma. It is the little touches that made Virgin Atlantic stand out.
Anyway the flight arrived 40 minutes early and I was sitting waiting in Terminal 1 for my daughter’s United flight to arrive from Washington DC by 12.30.
Next is to take the airport train to the Fox Rental counter and then we will be on our way to our first night in Moline.
Updates to follow when I can
