New York’s Times Square is dropping the ball on 03 July in fact it will drop 8 times one for each time zone across America.

Mount Rushmore’s famous fireworks display in South Dakota is also returning in 2026 for America 250, one of 25 events taking place across the state.

Las Vegas is featuring fireworks along the ‘Strip’ from 06 June through to the end of July every Saturday night. The stand out night will be 04 July where the fireworks will be let off from the roofs of the casinos along the famous Las Vegas strip. Each Saturday will be from a different location so check the best viewing location although I suppose that you should be able to see the spectacle from most areas around the ‘Strip’.

Washington D.C is being cleaned and renovated for this historic birthday, some statues reportedly being resurfaced in gold leaf as well as the reflecting pool at the Lincoln Memorial on the National Mall is having it’s base painted American Blue. There will be a massive firework display and a State Fair along the National Mall.

Boston is hosting Harborfest between 2 and 4 July including the obligatory fireworks.

The 250th celebrations are sandwiched between the soccer World Cup 2026 so there is an awful lot of activity in such a short time for travellers and citizens alike to experience.

Many airlines and train operators have special versions of their equipment celebrating this historic event. Confusingly there is Official America 250 and Freedom250 which is the Department of the Interiors official 250 site and then America250.

So wherever you will be in the first week of July enjoy the celebrations across the United States of America!
