In preparation for my short visit into Washington State next month I finally booked my Amtrak Cascades ticket from Mount Vernon to Seattle. I should have done it ages ago.
TIP: There are different fare types with limited seats so BOOK EARLY!
I paid $60 which was $26 to Seattle and $22 plus an upgrade of $12 to get a Business Class seat. If I had booked earlier it could have been purchased on two saver tickets for $34 return.
I will be in Seattle from 11.00 – 19.00 so plenty of time to stroll around. I need to do some planning so that it makes the most of my time there. I will look for something different that Pike Place and the Space Needle though.
I see that King Street Station is close to Pioneer Square so will start from there or do I do a tour of the Seahawks Centurylink Field or the Seattle Mariners T-Mobile Park?
On my travels this time I need to make room for new Starbucks mugs to add to my collection so will have to consider carefully if I purchase the Seattle or Washington ones in the most recent design. I might end up with 5 mugs on this trip which a bit over the top!
Actually on a Seattle theme I saw that there is an exhibition of Dale Chilhuly glass at Kew Gardens in London ending in October. Didn’t visit Chilhuly glass when I was last in Seattle but thought I would mention it.
