The world famous Rocky Mountaineer revealed it’s newest route in August 2021. This is the first service wholly inside the United States. With it’s distinctive blue, white and gold livery the newly released route will start in Moab with an overnight stop in Glenwood Springs and continue the following day to Denver. The offering does not include a Goldleaf Service but a SilverLeaf and a SilverLeaf plus service for an additional £380 (at today’s exchange rate $1.38 to £1.00)
Previous travellers onboard Rocky Mountaineer will no doubt notice that the carriages are one height but the SilverLeaf Plus allows access to a newly refurbished lounge car that offers an elevated dining experience and more space with a small vestibule to stand outside.

Included on this two all day rail journey are two breakfasts and lunch if you travel westbound and in the eastbound direction 1 dinner and 1 each of breakfast and lunch.
There are different packages to add on to the beginning or end of your adventure. Transfer extensions to start your journey in style can add pre and post nights in Las Vegas or Salt Lake City. Transfers will be provided to the start and end Rocky Mountaineer Stations and all accommodation includes a luggage service so that you don’t have to think about anything except what adventures lie ahead.
Having experienced the majesty of this iconic rail service a couple of years ago I would not miss up the opportunity to travel onboard again but it comes with a hefty price tag with prices starting for the rail journey only at £825 per person.
Having said all of that as it currently stands UK travellers are still on the American Red List. With careful planning this will surely be the bucket list addition to an American Road Trip.
