Epcot at Disney World Florida has announced the opening date of Disney’s latest story coaster ride. The announced date is 27 May 2022 in the newly named World Discovery Neighbourhood. The launch of Guardians of the Galaxy@ Cosmic Rewind will be Ecpot’s first rollercoaster. Located where the old energy pavilion of Epcot and where the popular Ellen’s Energy Adventure was.

This new family attraction features a reverse launch and will spin guests at 360 degrees in a dark ride. The coaster is fully enclosed and is themed around the Marvel inspired Guardians of the Galaxy.

Is it just me or have Star Wars and Marvel taken over Disney? The appeal to plan a visit at great expense lessens with knowing that what was Disney is now Marvel and Star Wars attractions. I am sure that the new ride will be popular and lines will be endless but it just isn’t what it used to be and some of the magic has been eroded by these franchises.
