Works are underway at Walt DisneyWorld to prepare for it’s 50th anniversary in 2021. Cinderella’s Castle has been repainted and the iconic arch on the approach into Walt DisneyWorld that welcomes visitors from across the world is being decorated for the 2021 celebrations.
Inside the Magic Kingdom theme park, renovations have recently been completed on widening the pathway between Sleepy Hollow in Liberty Square and Mickey’s PhilharMagic in Fantasyland, as well as installing a new entrance into Tomorrowland.
Some rides have been closed due to routine maintenance like the Tomorrowland Transit Authority People Mover, Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island.
During this unprecedented uncertainty the phased opening of DisneyWorld has been reasonably successful and there has been very little Covid-19 cases reported. Of course the experience in the parks is different but how refreshing that the Walt Disney Company is still planning the magic.
