Just announced and really bad news for the 97 thousand workers on New York’s Broadway is that the lights will not be going on until at least 30 May 2021.
The announcement has been made by the Broadway League that represents 41 Broadway Theatres. All ticket sales for the 41 shows have been suspended until next year. Patrons holding tickets in the anticipation of a January re-opening are being told to apply for refunds or changes from the point of purchase.
The CDC has also extended the ‘No Sail’ order on cruise ships departing from the States until at least 31 October. Hawaii is finally allowing visitors to come to the islands with a negative Covid test result withing 72 hours of arrival. If not there is a 14 day quarantine period at your expense. This decision has been rescheduled four times so there is time yet to change the plans again. The financial impact on the state has been massive and currently is one of the states with the fewest new positive cases.
At least half of the states have reported increases in positive cases this week. Things are not going well just now and there appears to be no end insight for so many entertainment and travel business’s.
