How is this for a joined approach in response to the Coronavirus? In Las Vegas at least two employees of MGM Resorts International have tested positive to Covid-19. One at Luxor and one at Wet Republic Pool at MGM Grand. MGM resorts have taken the decision to close their night clubs, day clubs, spas, salons and fitness centres from Monday.
In Las Vegas one of the most popular and famous things to partake in is a buffet in one of the resorts on the strip. MGM have decided to close buffets in ARIA, Bellagio, MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, The Mirage, Luxor and Excalibur. This initially is a temporary measure as authorities monitor the progress of the virus. BUT Caesars Entertainment who are MGMs closest competitor are keeping theirs open.
Wynn Resorts are implementing appropriate distancing between guests at gaming tables and machines. They will also be using non-invasive thermal cameras to monitor the temperatures of guests and any registering 100.4 or higher will discreetly be informed by staff and asked to leave.
Wynn Las Vegas has postponed it’s residency shows including Lionel Richie, Diana Ross and Robbie Williams. Jonas Brothers have cancelled their residency at MGM Park Theater.
There will be lay-offs and closures in Las Vegas another blow to tourism. Off course, eventually Coronavirus will all be over and the rebuilding of consumer confidence will return but the impact globally will be felt for a long time yet.
Some good news in a way is that bookings for 2021 are up massively!
The most reliable advice is to WASH YOUR HANDS.
Apparently there are now queues at Mens toilets, so what were you guys doing before this outbreak?
